Albert K's Lakeside Cafe

Albert K’s Lakeside Café is the perfect way to spend a summer morning. The Café has all homemade recipes and Grand Rapids-roasted coffee. Whether you are visiting from out of town and looking for a taste of local delicacies, or if you are setting sail from the Holland boat launch and in need of coffee before your sunset cruise, Albert K’s Lakeside Café is your spot. We had the opportunity to sit down and talk with one of the owners, Ellen Smith, to ask her some questions about the Café.

What got you interested in starting your Café and Coffee shop?

We started as Albert K’s Catering focused on corporate lunch catering in 2016 offering boutique type catering with authentically prepared food, grilling our own meat, baking our own bread, creating unique sauces and aioli recipes, baking cookies and dessert bars daily, and our corporate clients fell in love with our food. Many asked where they could get our sandwiches and salads. The space next to our commercial kitchen was vacant, so in June 2017 we decided to knock a hole in the wall and expand our space to create Albert K’s Lakeside Café where the public can enjoy the same good food we provided to our catering clients. We serve phenomenal coffee and espresso drinks whose beans are roasted locally by Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters.

What is one motto you try to run your Café and Coffee shop by?

 “Be Authentic!"

What is something that most people don’t know about Albert K’s Lakeside Cafe?

All of our sandwich recipes, sauces, quiches, salads and dressings were created by my husband and me.

What is the must popular drink, sandwich or quiche on the menu?

Most Popular Sandwich's: Smoked Ham, Sweet Bacon Habanero and Turkey Cranberry 

Most Popular Quiche: Mediterranean Quiche and Quiche Lorraine. 

Most popular drinks: Lattes- Salted Caramel Cold Brew or Icy Mocha Cold Brew Mocha – Americano – etc.

What is your favorite thing to do in Holland?

We love anything on the water or at the Beach!
